Head Lice Prevention! Measures You should Take

Every parent, whose child goes to school, is concerned about his child’s head lice prevention for which he or she adopts different strategies. Even when we do our best, children are still prone to contract this painful condition. Although there are a number of treatments available for curing this disease, but the natural treatments are always found effective for such a disease. Lice are not usually the carriers of the disease but the children should be aware that their inability to timely get rid of lice would lead to the plagues.

Methods for Head Lice Prevention:

A case in which you are suffering from the head lice infestation does not show that you have a poor hygiene, so you should not be ashamed of that. Conversely, those with clean hair are actually the prime targets of these lice that lay more eggs on such an environment. Using some natural solutions instead of using medications will offer the best treatment.

Some Preventive Measures:

Firstly, you should discourage your children from sharing their personal things with others, such as combs, brushes, and scarves. You must also keep checking the hair of the children regularly in order to catch any signs of infestation.

Natural Head Lice Treatments:

The child head lice control can be done most effectively through the natural treatments. Firstly, you can apply Vaseline generously to the hair of your child. You must then cover the head with the shower cap. Leave as it is for a night and then wash the hair the very next day. You might need more than one wash so that the Vaseline is completely removed from hair. Secondly, you may cover the hair with the mayonnaise and then put a shower cap on the head. In this way also, the lice are smothered. You must leave the mayonnaise on the hair for only a few hours and then wash the hair with warm water or some ordinary shampoo. Thirdly, you can also use the coconut oil on hair and the scalp. After applying the oil, you may use the comb to go through the air. You may rinse the comb for a few times in order to ensure there are no more lice in hair. Then wash the hair again with shampoo and apply the oil and repeat the whole process for another day.

After Natural Head Lice Treatment:

After you have done the natural treatment to kill the lice in the hair of your child, you may still realise that some of the eggs would still remain in the hair. In that case, you must make a solution containing water and vinegar and then soak a small towel of preferably white color in the solution. Wrapping the towel around the head for a couple hours will actually dissolve those eggs that were still stuck to the hair. Washing the hair afterwards will remove the remaining eggs as well.
